  32. If you have 4.0, you may be able to get away with using the glow 
  33. function, but since I don't have that version, I have to rely on old 
  34. tricks.  YOu can create two versions of your "neon" object, one slightly 
  35. larger than the next, and both taking up the same 3D space, one inside 
  36. the other.  The inner object will have a neon type color and be set to 
  37. be very luminous.  The outside object will have an almost totally 
  38. transparent surface setting and transparent edges, no specularity and a 
  39. color a few notches brighter than the inner object.  The idea of the 
  40. outter object is to simulate the glowing halo present around real life 
  41. neon signs.
